Need some help building a workstation PC.

Picking parts for a gaming system seems easy by comparison. Im never sure how much to cut without sacrificing performance. I Want it to be able to handle home office tasks, edit my podcasts, youtube uploads,I want it to be in the 900-1100 dollar range, if possible? and to feature a gtx 950 or 960 again if possible so I can occasionally game in 1080p.

Any input at all on cpu or mobo recommendations would be appreciated

thanks

Solution
The new Skylake Xeon is a powerful CPU that can handle multiple demanding tasks at once. If you feel you don't need that level of performance the build can be adjusted for a lesser CPU and less memory if you want. I simply try to maximize performance for a given budget.
Editing, streaming, multitasking, gaming, most anything you can throw at it.
