Hey guys!

I've recently bought myself a new SSD and some RAM to upgrade old parts.

The problem is the RAM is only reporting HALF of the installed ram.

I've cleaned and checked all the sockets ram and CPU so assume it's not a physical problem.
Every Slot and Stick work on their own

The XMP Profile is not showing up as an option and the DRAM Frequency cannot go over 1600
I've tried up and down grading Bios and serveral CMOS clears.

I have no experience OC'ing so I'm not confident to start messing with Voltages. +.05 is as far as I've taken it.

Here are my parts - I've also got screenshots of the Bios screen.

Thanks Everyone!

G.SKILL only ensures compatibility within each memory kit. Nothing is stopping you from using 4 Sticks (Bought 2 at a time).

G.SKILL FAQs:
Q:
I want to install more memory, in addition to my existing memory kit. What are my options?

A:
We do not recommend mixing memory kits, regardless of brand or model.

By mixing memory kits together, there may be compatibility issues such as unable to boot or unable to operate at rated specifications.

Each of our memory kit are thoroughly tested to ensure compatibility within each memory kit. And because we have not tested our memory kit with your existing memory kit, we cannot guarantee compatibility when multiple kits are used.

So even with 4 identical sticks, there's some chance it won't work and trying nothing else is my best option?

They are not identical.

The specifications are identical.

RAM is not mass produced, so each production is not exactly the same as previous. This is why we must sell kits of RAM, otherwise we can just offer single sticks and people can purchase as many as they need.

Give the two kits a shot and see how they work. Let us know and we can help if necessary

Thanks G.Skill!

Sorry for the sarcasm but not being able to fix this left me pretty defeated and salty.

I've tried the 4 together in all sorts of ways but no luck. The XMP option doesn't even show in my bios anymore so I think i'm making things worse.

I'm pretty convinced my Mobo is the issue so I'm just running 8gigs until I can replace it.
The 1155 socket is kind of old though so I would want to replace the CPU as well.

Unless you think there's any easier solution i'm fine hanging on to the extra sticks until I can fix/replace the issue.

It'll be a bit before I can afford to upgrade the Mobo/CPU but if you have any recommendations that you think would make this setup work, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks

There's a link to imgur with my Bios screenshots in the original post. I'll take one of the timings screen.

The date on both RAM stickers is March 2016 if that's what you're referring too.

Each kit works together in each slot. The seperate pairs still show up as 8gb in either color set.
