Asus sent me a live update which knocked out my U47A NB USB ports. Can someone please walk me thru fixing it. I am a real novice so I need step-by-step instructions. Thanks very much. (I've looked at solutions to this problem in this Forum but I don't know how to do/where to find the things necessary to fix this.)

Hi,

Its possible the upgrade has removed the drivers for them. So to see if that is the issue.

1) Go to control panel
2) click on hardware and sound
3) click device manager (underneath devices and printers)
4) navigate to your Universal Serial Bus controllers
5) right click and "scan for hardware changes"
6) if there has been a change either re install the drivers or backup to whatever it was before

If the above does not work skip step 5. Instead click Universal Serial Bus controllers (should open a list of all USB drives) then right click on the ones that are not working and select "Update driver software"

If all of the above dont work you will have to go to asus's website and find the driver for your usb things and do a complete...

Hope that helps,
Good luck
Matt.
