Hello guys,
I was just thinking if this rig could handle 4k gaming:

I will mainly think of using this rig for gaming only, no video editing at all.
In games I just want to play GTA 5 at 4k.
So if I make FSAA 2x and MSAA 2x and also reduce grass/textures quality to high or very high, can I get a stable 40+ fps?
If not what upgrade/setting should I think of?

Solution

ultra 1440p you need a 980 ti

high settings 1440p the 390 will be very playable

4k is really really huge, its 4 1080p screens. And you wanna run GTA 5 on high or very high with decent FPS? Hope you're gonna buy a liquid cooler for that 390, cause it could melt. It has the VRAM though, so try it when you get everything.

change that power supply, NEX is not good

get the g2, p2, b2 models

also you are going to need two 390's MINIMUM to play 4k, optimally two gtx 980 ti's and even then you will need to lower settings

The 390 is a terrific GPU, but it's a bit of a stretch to buy it with the intention of 4K gaming. You can tweak the settings low enough to be playable, but the compromises will have to be on the aggressive side. Even the best single-GPU solutions are merely OK at 4K and not particularly robust. If you're that interested in 4K, I'd strongly recommend waiting to see the next generation of GPUs soon to see how much progress is made.

Hmm...
Looks like I can't run 4k at this very tight budget as I am already planning to spend 2000$ on a Yamaha keyboard....
How about 2k? If not 4k, can I at least expect 2k with ultra settings?

Save 2000$ on that keyboard and get a 980ti SLI for your 4k or one 980ti for ultra 2k gaming...

P.S Just a tip: Your 980ti SLI isn't going to play 4k on ultra on most of the games and due to bad codings its most likely you will experience huge stutter.
