My Sony Home Theatre BDV-N9200W is rated at 1200w.If i use it in mid or low volume will it use the same amount of electricity????

Solution
Not exactly The 1200W is likely peak power of sound output (which would be hard to stand for extended periods). RMS power is what you really want to measure the sound of a system, but that could be ten times lower, so does not make for good advertising. Somewhere on the power cord or back of the main unit there should be a label that tells how many VA the system uses.

There are issues of efficiency too, how well the system converts line power to sound.

When you run the system, the amount of power used is affected somewhat by the loudness, but not so much.
