I'v been searching around to find a solution to my problem, but I can't seem to figure out how to fix it, so I hope that someone in here can point me in the right direction.

My problem is, that my build won't boot up my OS after it has finished installing. It keeps booting up the bios. This happens for Windows 10 and 8.1.

Here is a description of the process:

I plugin a USB driver with Win10 installation on it.
I select the drive that I want to install the OS on.
I run the installation and the system states that it will reboot in 10 seconds when it's done.
If I don't remove the USB it will run the installation again after the reboot.
If I remove the USB it will boot up the BIOS
I have no errors or Warnings showing.
If I go to the boot menu and select the SSD with the installation on it also boots backup into the bios
.

What I'v tried to fix the problem.

  • I have tried to install windows 8.1 from a DVD with the same result.
I have used other cabels to connect the SSD to the motherboard.
I made sure, that the SSD cabel is connected to SATA port 1.
I tried to connect the SSD to another SATA port.
    I disabled fast boot.

Below is a list of the hardware used in the build.

  • Motherboard: MAXIMUS VIII RANGER
    CPU: I7-6700K
    SSD: Corsair Force LX
RAM: Corsair Vengance LPX DDR4-3000 DC 32GB
Cooling: Corsair Hydro H110i GT High Performance
    DVD Drive
