PC Specs,
I7 4790k
980 TI (MSI)
16 GB Ram DDR3
MSI Gaming 5 Z97
Seasonic X-850 Gold.
My question is: Can an unstable overclock crash a PC/force it to restart? Example, playing the witcher 3 with an overclock I've tested via unigine heaven will force boot my PC. Event viewer only displays "kernel power event ID 41" Same issue was happening when I had a 600W PSU, so I thought upgrading to 850 would solve the issue. Temps from the CPU and GPU seem fine(CPU never goes beyond 60C and the GPU hits around 76C ~ Under load/Witcher 3 likes to run it hot) Trying to figure out what exactly the issue could be and if indeed an overclock could force boot your PC.
*I have uninstalled all drivers via DDU(safe mode)
Thanks for all the help!
