Hi,

I'm having some interesting issues with my new build, it has been working fine for about 2 months now. Came in the other morning to find the system not able to even post, swapping out the GPU to an older GTX 470 seemed to fix the system. So I replaced the 390 i had with a warranty replacement 390x.

Plugging the new 390x into any mobo pci slot causes the system to not post at all, 390x gpu works fine without issue on our other desktop.

Have narrowed it down to either the Mobo or the PSU, but can't figure which is the culprit, hence the post here :)

What i've tried to find a solution..

  • ■ Plugging DP monitor cables to on-board motherboard display, and trying different monitors (I have dual screens) - System posts and works this way.
    ■ Seating/unseating a memory stick in every RAM slot (No Issues)
    ■ Plugging out RAM sticks entirely (System posts)
    ■ Removing GPU and running the system without it (Using Mobo graphics - Works fine)
    ■ Clearing CMOS and/or re-seating the battery, which does work. Upon turning on the PC, after short period of time it will do a restart, but then return back to a black screen
    ■ Re-plugging, re-seating everything in the build, running the build with minimum stuff plugged in

Now obviously the 390/390x has a much higher power draw than a GTX 470, but still finding it hard to know whether it's the Motherboard or the PSU.

System Specs:
Intel Core i7 6700k
Sapphire 390x
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4x8GB) DDR4-2400
Asus Z170 PRO GAMING
Samsung 850 EVO Series 250GB SSD
Corsair RM750

Can you guys help me out? Any help/hints would be greatly appreciated :)
