Hi to all,
I have just tried to install my new Renesas 4-Port (as title) and when it came to installing the driver, things went mad.
First, it was the BSOD, so I next tried Safe Mode. Fine, that worked, and a search of the Internet indicated that it was the Microsoft Installer that was wrong - it had stopped. Yes it had, and instructions were given on how to re-start it. Trouble was that after navigating my way through Windows ( v7 btw), it told me that because I was in Safe Mode, it could not play ball with me.
I rebooted and tried to get into Win7 but I just got the BSOD again.
So, my problem is this: I need to get Windows 7 to start up again so that I can navigate through and start the Windows Installer. I have tried re-installing the driver from the supplied disc, over and over again, but no, it just won't have it. I have even tried Cntrl + Alt + Delete and that does not even show it.
I have tinkered with the Registry removing anything with RUSB3 in the script but there are only a few that can be removed - the others are all protected from me fiddling with them.
Has anyone any sensible ideas about how I might go about this? Please, please make it simple because I am not very good at computers and common sense seems to have left me (some years ago, others might say!).
Regards to all,

Philhen.
