I am looking to upgrade my PC just because I have some extra cash around and I feel like upgrading some components. Here is what I currently have in my system.

EVGA GTX 960 4GB SSC
i5 4590
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD7
ASETEK 550lc Liquid CPU cooler
8gb DDR3 Ram
1Tb Western Digital Blue Hard Drive
550W Enermax Revolution87 Gold 80 plus Power Supply

I play a lot of CPU intensive games like Dayz arma 3 and counterstrike. But I also play some high graphically intensive games like skyrim(with graphics mods) etc. but my GPU seems to breeze through these games giving me hundreds of FPS so I feel like upgrading my CPU would benefit me more at the current time. I would like to know what i7 processor I should purchase. I would be able to overclock it beacuse of my motherboard and cooling so any advice on which i7 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Solution
1) upgrade your ssd - i recommand a 120/250gb 850 evo samsung ssd
2) upgrade your pwoersupply the superflower p2 650w is on sale its 75 dollars/ a huge steal since good pwoeruspplies start at 60 dollars.

than wait for pascal/ your cpu wont bottleneck any gpu now and we doubt it it will bottleneck nvidia pascal /amd polaris gpus
what pwoer supply do you have now? / you cpu isnt bottlenecking any gpu
i would keep this , and wait for the new graphics cards launchung in june(rumors).

however adding a ssd in your system would never hurt.
alsmo make sure there is a quality powersupply in your system.

What kind of budget are you talking, and please post full system specs. Honestly, you should probably get an SSD at this point. Everything else is pretty modern and will be fine even for heavy gaming.
