I just bought a 1tb Seagate Barracuda to go along with my SSD and other 500gb harddrive. I installed the harddrive correctly, but it is showing to be a DVD RW Drive. I've never heard of this bug, can anyone help?

This is my devices and drives. The (D:) drive is my supposed 'Hard Drive' but it is appearing as a DVD RW Drive.

CD Drive (F:) is my actual CD drive.

Solution
Hey there, JakeSmith1640.

I've seen similar issues before. Have you initialized, partition and formatted the drive via Disk Management? This usually fixes things up. Here's how to do those things:
1. How to initialize or write a signature to a secondary hard drive or Solid State drive in Windows (make sure to select "GPT" if the drive is larger than 2TB in order to be able to use its full capacity)
2. How to partition and format a drive on Windows and Mac OSX.

Please check out those tutorial and let me know how it goes once you try them out. If it doesn't work, please post a screenshot of what you see in Disk Management. You should also check if it's recognized properly by your BIOS/UEFI.

Hope that helps.
