So my last computer has failed me and now I'm set on building my own. The only thing is that I have no idea what to get or how to build it. YouTube can help me with the building, but I was told you fine people could help with the purchasing of the hardware.

My budget is no more than $660 and it won't be used for anything more than recording my own music. Not gaming, video or photo editing, not even surfing the web. In the perfect world, I'd like two monitors, but I'm sure that's a little unrealistic. I also already have an OS.

For audio you don't need much hardware wise. This would be more than enough for what you are going to be doing with it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229618 Get a webcam or some sort of camera and record yourself while doing the session. Put it on Youtube or something and maybe you will get a following. Just an idea. Laptop hardware is more than enough to record audio so this will be more than you would need but you will come up with other ideas over time.
