Solution
This helped one guy with a HP Pavilion of the same series as yours who had black screen same as you: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1904869/disable-ulps-amd-crossfire-setups.html

I updated my folks HP Pavilion dv7-6199us entertainment laptop from Windows 7 to 10, and upon boot-up between the Windows logo splash screen and the login screen, there is a 60-90 second period of time where the screen is blank. No mouse cursor, no logos or updating notice.
I noticed that the system has two video drivers, a Radeon one and an Intel HD driver. I'm wondering if it has to do with some type of conflict.

sound familiar??

your dual card is probably counted as a sort of crossfire.

I grabbed the last drivers for the wifi , but i cannot find drivers for my graphic card , what i use now are extremely old and there is no way i can find new ones...
This is what Speccy says when i scan my pc about my hardware:
Generic PnP Monitor (1600x900@60Hz)
Intel HD Graphics Family (HP)
1024MB ATI Radeon HD 6490M (HP) 52 °C
CrossFire Disabled

I currently use an old driver for the Intel HD Graphics family !

are you using the radeon or the integrated?

All of the errors are caused by old drivers

You clearly need to upgrade a few more drivers. If there was a driver updater I trusted to not mess you up, I would., Have a look on motherboard site for your pc and grab anything that is new. I can't tell what is wrong as ntoskrnl is the most important part of windows so I know its not at fault.

the second ones in list are for win 7 64 bit?

Sorry, its 4,30am here, i answer questions in win 7 & win 10 forums and I got confused... I should go to sleep :)

Someone put that radeon in there as it doesn;t appear on the specs for your HP. So I assume that you are using it instead.

I give up for now , what i plan to do is install the original windows 7 home premium oa with the cd-key that comes with the laptop , fully update the windows , and install than again the latest drivers , if that still doesnt work i'm going to try and update to windows 10 maybe ?

I find updating to win 10 just to avoid bsod errors generally just brings them along with you. Better to fix them before upgrading. Win 10 can't fix drivers, though thre is a chance the new drivers fix whatever the old ones cause. You best to check if your machine is compatible with win 10 before grabbing it

I see the problem. and even choosing vista there really isn't anything worth getting.

I starting to think this is a losing battle. You would be better off with a newer computer as this one is getting too old to find drivers for. You would be amazed at how much better new ones are now, that computer must be at least 10 years old. It needs a holiday.

I just realised I been using your motherboard model number as your pc model... the one I found is from 2006. OMG... it only came with XP, it had a 56k modem...that was why i said that...lets start again. I am so embarrassed, I am better than this.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv7-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/5082216/model/5141789

You need the ones in driver chipset, driver storage, should download that diagnostics program and run it.. might help us. You should grab all the new drivers dated 1 march. go through the sections, get all the march 1 ones as they the newest.

careful which graphics driver you install, as I expect you want the amd one, not Intel (only as its better).

The link you need is here: HP Support

The site should recognise your operating system when you get there but if its showing windows 10, click the change option and select Win 7 from the drop down list.
You should be able to use the red button that says check now and it will recommend drivers for you to install.

Sorry about the mess ups. I don't know why i thought your motherboard was your pc model. It even says what you have in the title..

I installed the required software , but it stucks here : HP is compiling your results. This could take up to 3 minutes, depending on your computer and connection speed. Thank you for your patience.
I searched the internet and it seems alot of people get this error , and most of them said it's from the HP site and they can't do anything...

You can manually go through the list and grab latest versions of the 64 bit versions of drivers.

Grab everything in Driver-audio
Everything in Driver - chipset
In the graphics section, get the AMD/Intel switchable graphics driver 64 bit version, you can use both at same time.
everything in Driver - mouse
everything in Driver - Network
If you have a printer, get the driver for that too
Drivers - storage, get the latest versions, only 2 files in here

Stop when you get to bios, I wouldn't update that unless the drivers don't fix the problems.

You lucky, it seems most of the drivers you need are all on here. All my parts made by different companies so getting all the drivers is a nuisance.
