New build for gaming and some server use? ((4,500 soft cap))

Hello everyone! So I plan to start my next build in 60-90 days. As I have a sizable check coming to me in that time window. I plan to build a 4k 60fps PC that can also do some video/music editing, and I want to use it as a server as well. First of all, is that a good idea? To use a gaming PC as a server? I am not going to do a ton with it. A team speak server, a Minecraft server, small things like that. If this is not an overly bad idea, what would you say to do? I want to stick with Intel and Nvidia. What I had in mind is....

GPU - SLI 2 980ti's.

Mobo - ASUS X99-Deluxe

CPU - 5960X((I know it is over kill for pretty much anything. But I want it because I am insanely wasteful it seems. =/))

RAM = I want to build up to 64 gigs of ddr4. But think I will start out with 16. Want more for the server stuff.

PSU = undecided.

SSD = undecided

HDD = undecided

OS = I still have 2 uses left on my Win 8, so I will sue that. Even though the force updates pisses me off. Not good for server use I do not think.

Cooling = liquid cooling. But I am nto sure. I have never worked with that before, other than my H 100i. So I am not sure. Just do not know if there is a better way to go about cooling SLI or not?


Any tips on what I am not sure on yet? Any changes you would make on what I already have?

if the pc going to be more of a server then a gaming pc. go with a newer xeon cpu that has 6/8 cores for the same price as that higher end gaming cpu. on the gpu wait for pascal cards to drop in june. then go with sli pascal.

I was going to wait for them to drop to lower the price on the 980ti. Do you think it will be worth the money to get them? I have not done much research on them because I assumed they would be over priced for 4 or 5 months at least. ANd it will be more for gaming than it will be for server use. I play a LOT of games.

i would wait for the newer intel cpu and pascal. going to get more bang for the buck.

if the spec that leak are right cards goingto have a 4096 bit memory bus. going to be one 8 pin power connector.
