my first time building a gaming pc myself and i'm a bit insecure about my choice.
is it overkill? I just want to be able to play for like at least 5 - 10 years without major upgrade.

hope some of you veterans could help me out with a little feedback. thx ^^

here is the link:

i will run Win 10 pro

and i need to select a monitor too, one is enaugh at the beginning but i will get a second eventually.

Solution
Which fan are you referring to? If you're talking about the PSU fan, the only PSUs with quieter fans than every other PSU are Be Quiet!'s PSUs, but in general you won't have to worry about PSU noise.

For the AM, get 2x8GB. I too doubt you'll ever reach the max 64GB so taking advantage of dual channel mode would be better.

Finally, for the monitor, I'd recommend a 1080p/1440p 120-144Hz monitor (preferably 1080p due to the 970's VRAM). With a single 970 you won't get those very high framerates in heavy games but if and when you add a second one, you will get around 120FPS in even triple-A titles.

thx for the quick reply

isn't the PSU i have picked already an overkill? i mean i got 321W for the parts i picked. so 550 W psu should be enough or do i miss something? or is it about the features of the EVGA 750W ? pls explain

you are probably right with the GPU but i don't want to spend 500 - 600 on a GPU just now. Do you know if there is a GPU with which i buy the first one now and upgrade with a second and run them both together?

The Corsair PSU you picked is junk. This doesn't have to do with wattage or features but with the components used in it. PSU quality is a big matter so best to just take my word for it on this unless you want to research PSU quality yourself.

As for the GPU, this is actually why I recommended the 750W, so you could do SLI later on. And yes you can just add a second GTX 970 in the future to get more performance. Two GTX 970s have effectively the same (or in some cases better) performance than a single 980 Ti. However, if you think you'll probably get a second GTX 970 in the future, I recommend getting this one instead as the cooler is optimized for such uses (two cards right next to each other in a small case): http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-turbogtx970oc4gd5

I took your PSU suggestion, my only concern, and that's probably because i'm a noob at pc building, is the fan, and how loud it could potentially get. is this concern reasonable or am I just concerned for no reason?

I rly like everything about the GPU you suggested, pretty nice thx ^^

I only got two questions, first: is it better to get 1x16GB Ram or 2x8GB. I mean I probably won't ever upgrade to the possible 64 GB I could potentially use, so I guess 2x8 is better? What are your thoughts on that.

and secondly the monitor, on this topic i'm very noobish, any suggestions with the set up I will get?
