I need to upload my pictures from my sd card to my pc. I have put the card into a card reader and its asking me to format it.

I need to upload my pictures from my sd card to my pc. I have put the card into a card reader and its asking me to format it. These pictures are important and i don't want to loose them.
How do i save them to the computer before formatting the card?

Can your camera/smart phone still read the SD card? If so, you may be able to transfer the photos via the camera/phone via USB cable. Have you tried that?
