Hi guys recently i changed my stock fx 6350 cooler with the zalman CNPS8000B and while the installation was done without any problems(the cpu temps are fine and no noise after all) after i saw some videos on youtube i realised i made a mistake during the process. The zalman cooler had a yellow installation block where you had to apply the edges of this to the backplate of the cooler and not the whole thing as i did. My question is this ; can this yellow block melt during intense cpu load and heat? I know my question may seem dumb but im really concerned and i dont know much about components. Also i dont want to reinstall the cooler because it was a pain for me. I leave a pic of my backplate to show exactly what i mean. Thanks in advance

^ because obviously you should in all honesty - its only sticky though to stop it slipping about while you're fixing the backplate.

I've used that cooler , the pad is foam , the layer of stuff that should have been taken off is like the backing off a sticky plaster - it won't melt or burn at the back of the board.

If it were me personally I'd take it off but the op doesn't sound that confident removing & refitting it all again.

So long as the backplate is secure I can't see it doing any harm at all now

Yeah you have to remove that sticker, I would never recommend using it with the sticker on.
Better use some minutes of your life than having to deal with hours trying to remove burned plastic from your motherboard/CPU. (Also, your temps will reduce as an effect too :))

Wouldn't bother , the idea of that sticky pad is
1.to offer padding between backplate & board
2. To hold the backplate in position while you bolt it.

The pads pretty much foam & on the back of the board its not going to take much heat anyway.
I doubt the pad itself is any more heat resistant than the 2 bits of paper you should have removed.

-Not being sarcastic- But why all installation guides (Including that one) have messages telling user to remove them before using?

Yeah the truth is im not confident to do the whole thing again (atleast alone )because the first time i did it i was really anxious about damaging anything and my hands are far from steady. Also i noticed that when im gaming or anything the heat goes mostly to the top of the case and not the part where the backplate is so hopefully nothing bad will happen until i found someone "expert" to remove it. But in worst case scenario if it melts is there any chance to completely harm cpu or mobo?
