computer will not power up at all after installing new RAM

Do the fans twitch at all? Anything happen? Check your power switch cable. Is your PSU switch in the "on" position?

if the mb was on or had power you may have triggered anti short in the mb and power supply. pull power from the wall wait for the power good led to go out on the mb . then look for the clear the cmos jumper. and clear the cmos., put the jumper back and then see if the mb will power on with one old ram stick.

No power sounds like its shorting out try the old ram if it works its likely the new ram could be broken
