Hi guys,

So basically I decided to use my brothers old gpu since he upgraded. And since I have a igpu I thought a dedicated gpu would mean better game play. I tried the gpu to see if it was working like if it would power up and fit in my case it was I just didn't have the pci - e cable to plug from the gpu to the motherboard I was hoping to buy it soon. When I took out the gpu and booted my pc it got tl the windows logo and said "No Signal" why is this? And how can I fix it? I tried to disable and enable my igpu on safe mode but the same thing happens. My igpu is a amd radeon 7660d and the one i want to install is a ati radeon hd 4870
Thankz!

If you try to run the 4870 without the power cable, you can kill the card and maybe the motherboard, it's not optional, you use the card, you use the cable.

Remove the video card, reset the BIOS on the motherboard using the jumper, see if onboard video works after that.

Hi,
Thanks for replying i seem to have run in another problem before you posted this answer. I disabled the igpu thorugh the bios menu only because i thought both the igpu and dedicated gpu wont function together so i did that and tried to boot up my pc and still the monitor does not show up. Now you might think me a retard which i should be entitled to being but i missed out the VGA cable the cable that connects to the monitor and gpu. I am getting one tomorrow so it should all go well and start displaying video so i can enable the igpu so both go to better gaming performance. However say for example the monitor does not display video with the vga cable. Even if the gpu is out there will be no video input for me to reset through bios etc... since i disbaled the igpu what would i do then? Thank you for replying once again.

Looks like I have resolved the issue. The problem was that you cannot have both the IGPU and Dedicated gpu working as one. In doing so I caused my IGPU to malfunction and it had to be resetted through the BIOS menu. I disabled my IGPU and made changed it through the BIOS also enabling my PCI-E socket and making it my primary use of video output. All is well now thanks. :)
