I'm wanting to buy a gtx 980 ti and I can get one for 664.99 minus a mail in rebate of 25 bucks so 640 total. Should I wait for new gpus or is this about as low as the 980ti is going to get?
980Ti supply will dwindle when new cards come out, meaning price would in essence get higher actually, but realistically will remain the same. Once the supply does get very low, the 980Ti new will be about $1000. Look at any old GPU brand new - it costs a crap ton.
New graphics cards dont reduce the prices of current gen cards. Never have.
If you are going to get a 980Ti I dont see them getting much cheaper until years later.
Where does the laptop come in here?

well almost everyone in forums and the youtube videos I have seen say that the cards will get cheaper when the new NVidia gpu comes out, anyways I was able to get a zotac 980ti for amp edition for 619.00 I hope the prices don't drop. if so I have 30 days to return the card.

interesting.. I haven't paid attention to previous cards and their prices. my last card was a 550ti before I got the 980ti.. we'll see how this plays out then. only thing I can do now is just wait
Everyone says cards will drop in price when the next generation comes out, but none of them can give a single example of it happening, because it dosent.
