Hey there! I have an old 6 year PC that is running strong still I would say but a fan on my XFX Radeon HD 6950 is starting to fail and the overall temperature of my lovely card is idling at 60+ or 70-80 when playing a game so i think it's high time to upgrade although I am not sure what exactly to go for.

Hopefully within the Budget of 100 - 200$ give or take a few here and there.

May i ask for the expertise and opinion of the community here?

My specs are:

Motherboard :Gigabyte GA 990XA - UD3
Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
8GB RAM
GPU: AMD XFX HD Radeon 6950
PSU: Corsair TX750M

Any and all help is greatly appreciated thank you!

Hello,

Did you ask XFX for support yet? xfxsupport.com.

If we have the fan, we ship it out free of charge, Also, most AMD reference fans can be purchased online for under $20. if the 6950 is still in warranty, the replacement would be a modern card valued around $120-$150.

Thank you for replying~!

Sadly no the card is far out of warranty it's 6 years old now and while replacing the fan is a great idea, I think it's just time to pick a new card for my rig and see if i can maybe hit better fps and better temperatures on the new games and what not.

if his card had a lifetime warrantee and the xfx guy said this '' , the replacement would be a modern card valued around $120-$150. '' seems a bit short changed

I understand you ''may'' get a new card [then it maybe referb] ??? but did that 6950 cost more then 150 bucks something around 300 I recall ?? I'd say a xfx 380x at is the equal value replacement ??

then I guess beggars cant be too choosey .. and don't look a gift horse in the mouth ...
