Hi everyone. I'm planning on upgrading my GTX 960 2Gb to a GTX 970 4Gb or a similar card on AMD R9 series. I got an AMD FX 6200 CPu, 8GB Ram DRR3 and a 600w Cooler Master 80+ Bronze. Is there any problem if I do this upgrade considering that my processor is not the best? I play games at 1080p and also work with video/photo editing on the same resolution.

Additional info:
Hard Drive 500Gb Seagate
Mobo Asus M5A97 ATX
Samsung 21" @ 1080p

Thanks guys.

Should I necessary do that overclock if I want that card? (I have never overclock any CPU before)

the card will work on that cpu if nothing else put the cpu on its turbo frequency and that will help a bit i know that a fx 6200 is highly overclockable so you could (if you have a non-stock cooler) get it to near 5ghz
now what you asked is do i have to overclock no you dont but the gpu can be used at its full power a think on this cpu if it is close in performance to a fx 6300 it should only be put to 4.1-4.4ghz and on a 960 you should be fine

Cool. Like I said, I have never overclock any CPU before. I have always thought that overclocking reduce CPUs life time and I don't think I got the best cooling system to handle that. Anyway, If I don't need overclock I think I can try upgrading to 970 4gb without problems. Thanks for answering :)

a 970 on that cpu will work i would recommend putting the cpu on its turbo frequency of i think 4.2ghz or the a lower turbo frequency for a bit of a performance increase
