Problem:
Hi, I recently just rebuilt my system putting it in a new case and adding a CPU liquid cooler, now my system will boot for about 30-40 seconds then turn off due to high CPU temps, so the problem is with the liquid cooler. I have checked that the cooler is in place and is some what functional. The liquid cooler kit came with a and braket which I have installed and only a Intel backplate that won't fit on my mobo, so I'm still using the stock backplate that came with the mobo.

Please help!!

Solution
1. Did you remove the plastic they often stick over the point of contact between the cooler and CPU?
2. Did you clean off the old thermal paste?
3. Did you apply fresh paste, pea size blob is fine?
4. Can you hear the pump working and do the fans turn on?
