So here's the deal...

I just received my new laptop that comes with Windows 10 on the HDD as well as a new SSD. I want to swap out the HDD in the laptop for the SSD. The problem is that I can't install windows on the SSD while it's in the new laptop using a disc because the laptop doesn't have an optical drive. So I tried using a USB drive. I was able to get the laptop to boot from the USB drive, but it says that I am missing a CD/DVD driver. It turns out that this problem is commonly solved by just plugging the USB into a 2.0 port instead of a 3.0 port. Well, this new laptop also doesn't have a USB 2.0 port. It only has 3 USB 3.0 ports.

Now that you understand the situation I'm in, here is my question.

Can I temporarily install the new SSD into my desktop, boot the from the windows installation disc OR thumb drive, and then remove the SSD from my desktop and install it in the new laptop? Or will there be errors because of different hardware or BIOS?

No, that will not work.

Any suggestion as to how I can install the OS on the SSD? Or a fix for the CD/DVD missing driver issue other than switching a USB 2.0 port?

Unfortunately, it's not. The SSD is by ADATA.

I've been reading that USB 3 drivers aren't included in Windows 7, which is the OS I want to install. I'm currently looking for Toshiba USB 3 drivers for win7, but all the links to Toshiba's site so far have redirected me to their homepage.

@Brennan you want to install Windows 7 XXX but you should know MS dont support Intel i7 6700 only Windows 10(dont ask why it is MS sh***t). I think you will have to install Windows 10, to set up network installation you will need 2n computer. Both PC have to be connect to same network.

I think I tried that already. I disabled Secure Boot, gave USB boot priority, and changed UEFI to CSM. I am able to load Windows files click Install Windows 7. The problem is the next step. It says a missing CD/DVD driver is required. My only options at that point are to browse for the driver, rescan, or cancel.
