USB Keyboard/Mouse Stop Working as Windows 7 Loads

- This is a new pc, very first windows install
- Installation of windows has not yet completed, so i cant enter safe mode or anything
- USB Keyboard/Mouse work fine at the very start so i can mess with the bios and stuff but as windows loads up and goes to the screen where i have to put the pc name, both stop working
- Mobo is the MSI Z170A Gaming M7
- Already tried using usb 2.0 ports, nothing

So my question is, is there anything in the BIOS to make them work, or should i try to use a keyboard/mouse with ps/2 ports or something to get through that part until i get all the drivers installed?

Hi, I think we may have a problem Houston!!!. I run a small PC repair shop in the U.K and have seen something peculiar in the last 12 hours, USB keyboards stopped working on 3 different machines brought in by customers, is this the start of a global epidemic?

Re your 'new build' PC - Just wondered if you managed to get Windows 7 loaded successfully?..my new build also has Mobo Z170A M7 and I cannot get an OS installed...having same prob with keyboard/mouse stopping as windows 7 loads! Would appreciate any help from you guys out there...many thanks!!
