I have a Sabertooth 990fx 2.0 mother board and it continues to read my GSkill Sniper RAM (2 8GB sticks)PC1866 as PC1300 and I can not get it up to run at PC1866, it always fails to "overclock" but really I'm just trying to get this memory to run at it's native PC1866 speed.

Has anyone else had this problem or is able to solve this problem?

Solution
2 8GB sticks could be a problem if you bought two single modules instead of getting a matched pair in a kit of two. Unfortunately, two random modules that have the same part number are not guaranteed to be compatible together since they have never been tested together.
not to say its your issue but my sabertooths flat did not like 8gb sticks and that was with using as low as 1600 - you may just have to do a lot of fine tuning to get what you want or just as close to spec as you can in the end you may not get close to 1866 stable at all

also my buddy and his sabertooth with 2x8/[4x8kit] 1866 last I recall I don't think it made it as well and he just stetteled for the best he could get on them as well ..

his kit [4x8gb] did work well on a giga 990fx ud3 [r3] but no so much on the sabertooth

seems like a lot of luck of the draw on the board -memory used - cpu binning and amd memory controllers aint the strongest .. [some win some loose ]

my fun motto is ''if its amd its 1333'' lol....

so all you may can do it shoot for the best you can get and stable just follow the advice from above [g-skill rep] and fingers crossed on your outcome

good luck

Calvin7, Yes they were part of a kit so no worries there. I've been able to get them up to PC1600 but not yet to my desired speed of 1866. I will try some of the solutions here and see what happens :)
