Hey, so since i'm from south america, buying games here is pretty hard. I've found a seller on mercadolibre (Argentina's ebay equivalent) who sells steam key's for Dark Souls 3. Is there any chance that it's a pirated version he's selling? I mean, people seem to be reciving keys on steam and game gets activated on it, so if it shows on steam, there's no chance of it being pirated? Sorry if question isn't clear enough

Solution
If the cost through the other website is significantly cheaper than from steam, it is very likely the product has been pirated and may be disallowed now or disabled later. It's your money, but I wouldn't trust it.

Well hopefully that Ebay-like site will reimburse you if you get scammed or get a used code. Steam always has really good sales and at least with Steam if the game runs horrible or there's issues you can actually get a refund (I've used the refund system).

I've asked some people who bought the game through this seller and they all got the key activated on steam, isn't there any way to verify if the game is 100% legit once i bought it?

Might make sure the game code isn't region locked before you buy it, if possible. If you're logging in through a VPN to play games on Steam, this raises a red flag. I personally don't find that it's worth risking the loss of my account and all my games, to save a few bucks.

The onus of responsibility is on you if you end up purchasing stolen game keys.

Just because the code activated fine, doesn't mean it will remain active. Valve has revoked keys that were reported stolen in the past. Wouldn't be anything new.

Nope. The only way to make sure the game is 100% legit is to purchase it from a 100% legitimate reseller (aka Steam).
