I recently put together a new computer (components below) and for some reason i can't find the female AC cable that connects the PSU to the outlet. The PSU is an EVGA 650W P2, and ive been using an old AC cable from an 8 year old monitor (monitors have come a loooong way since them haha) and it works, but i want to purchase a cable for a PSU. any recommendations would be appreciated.

They are pretty standard. I still have some from 80286 and 80386 computers. Still working fine.

They are all 18 gauge(and list good for 10 amps) and while that is small it is upto what most computers you.

If you have a 1000+ watt power supply it may be more of a worry(power supply efficiency and all).

Hi

Are you in usa or elsware?

The mains cables in usa with nominal 115/120 volts are made of thicker cable than those for nominal 230 volts as the current they carry is twice what it would be in europe

In uk the plugs have a fuse typically 3amp or 5 amp or 13amp

Typically 5 amp for pc base units and 3 Amp for lcd screens

Provided the mains cable has not been damaged (visual inspection required) and the connections in the plug are checked and ok (assuming not a moulded on plug)

Then there is no need to change it for a new one
