Hello everyone,

Im a computer building novice and I was about to start ordering parts for my build and had picked the Asus Z170-A motherboard. Just today a newish' (?) motherboard from MSI caught my eye. The "Krait Gaming Z170A 3X" which looks pretty darn good and appears to pretty comparable to the Asus.

Are there any glaring difference that my novice self is missing between the two? Specs for both are linked below....

https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/Z170-A/specifications/

Input appreciated. Thanks!

You can compare the 2 somewhat here:

Believe the Asus has better power phases thinking 10 (8+2) vs 7, I prefer the Aus BIOSs (more precise controls). Will say also I won't build on MSI due to their poor QC (quality control), I only use the Rock, Asus, and GB for client builds ;)

Thanks for the post Tradesman1. Appreciate the info. I also like that the Asus has a displayport on it which I dont see on the MSI board. That combined with the better looking board aesthetically to my eyes I think Ill go with the Asus as there pretty similar.
