Hello guys, I've been wanting to upgrade my video card for a while now. I've looked up numerous forums topics about upgrading from a 7850 and it seems like there isn't much of a option for the 200-250 dollar price range. I was thinking, since it was a 4 year old card, that pretty much anything for 200 bucks would blow it out of the water, but from what people have said, the recent 'bang for your buck' video card, Radeon R9 380X, wasn't really that much of an upgrade. And i'm hesitant about spending 450+ bucks on a Radeon R9 390 or 350+ for a GTX 970.

Here are my current PC specs:

VC: ASUS Radeon HD 7850 (Obviously.. xD)
CPU: i5-4670 3.4 Ghz Quad Core
RAM: 8 GB Kingston
MB: ASUS H87-PRO
HD: 1 TB WD
PSU: SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold 650 Watts

Thanks a ton in advance for any help!

I would wait for the new lineups. But if you want something now, a R9 390 can be had for ~$290+. Newegg has sales often if you subscribe to their newsletter. Just yesterday they had a 970 on sale for $319.

The R9 380X is a fully enabled R9 380 (380X is about 10-15% faster). The 380 is overclocked R9 285. The 285 was a revision of the R9 280 (same performance just less power usage). The 280 was a rebadged 7950.
