I have a Sony Vaio laptop, it's 4-5 years old, but never gave me any problems until today.
Today my laptop froze so I held the power button down and tried to restart, I was then prompted with a message that said "Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer" followed by this "status: 0xc00000e9" and "info: an unexpected I/O error has occurred".
I've tried the launch startup repair and the start Windows normally button and keep getting this, "Windows is loading files..." It gets 3/4 of the way through and then loops back to the Windows has encouraged a problem communicating page. I've tried F8 and all safe modes and everything there and still no solution. Does anyone know what could be wrong with my laptop?
P.S. My CD player is broken but has been broken for a few years now and never had a problem. Not sure if this is related or not.
