Hey. I'm doing a new build here and can get everything working fine until I try to install a PCI graphics card (gtx 970). When I put in the card, the monitor is just black. The fans are going, but nothing else.

The onboard graphics work fine. Until I put in the graphics card.

Since this mb doesn't have a speaker and my case doesn't either, I don't know if it's beeping at me.

I tried the gpu in all three PCI slots with the same results. I tried this gpu on my other computer and it works. I tried another gpu on this same motherboard and got the same blank screen

I have a monitor plugged into the onboard graphics and another one plugged into the pci card, but I'm not seeing anything on either one.

Without the card in, the system boots up fine. I've even installed windows and such. But I can't get a graphics card to work.

I even tried changing from a 550w PSU to a 750W and it didn't make a difference.

Am I looking at a bad mb where none of the slots work?

System:
Gigabyte GA-z170MX-gaming 5
i5-6600k, 3,5 ghz
EVGA GTX 970
8 mb of Fury HyperX DDR4
750W Corsair
SSD
HD

on the bios of the mb look for primany display. if it set to auto set it to peg. also turn off muilt monitor support to turn off onboard video. also put with the onboard video working the f4 bios to rule out a bios bug. on the mb make sure the 8 pin pci power plug is plugged in. also make sure the intel chipset and mei drivers we installed.

In the bios I have this set: Intitial Display Output - PCIe 1 Slot
I don't see a setting for multi monitor support in the bios. Did you mean turning it off somewhere else?
I'm not sure what you mean about the f4 bios bug. Could you please clarify?

Windows says the chipset drivers are the most recent.
