soo ive been looking into this and it seems that no matter what excuse I try to make other then for aesthetics the noctua nh-d15/and even the cryorig r1 out are the best choice vs. top of the line closed looped liquid coolers?

for performance/low noise to cost ratio its a hard bargain to buy and go against the air cooler it seems.

at the end of the day there all good at cooling, and yes, some look better, cleaner ect.

was looking into something for my i7 6700k but it seems that even my h7 suffices just fine.

anyone care to share their thoughts or suggestions?

thanks!

Well the Noctua D15 is going to be quieter than most AiO coolers. However the only thing I would caution you about with the D15 is first the memory clearance for RAM sticks with tall heatsinks. That and there are reports of heavy air coolers bending the substrate of Skylake CPU's. So you'll want to look into that and see if the D15 has been named as one of the coolers to be careful of.
