Hi I want to stream games from my PC to my TV (Which are on opposite ends of the house). I have pretty crap internet at 10 mbits down and 0.8 mbits up. I tried using the steam in home streaming to my laptop, which I then plug that into the TV. It works pretty okay, but there's definitely a loss of quality. I plan on getting the laptop a wireless AC adapter to possibly remove occasional stutter.

Is there any better way? Or would this be all I could really do in my situation.

hardwire option:
Use 2 X cat 5e/6 cables and and cat 5e to hdmi converter - i used to use this to send sky + to the opposite end of the house. (i actually run it outside of the house and through the wall). benifit over a long hdmi cable is that the cables are cheap and it also means that if you accidently cut or damage the cable you are looking at a few pounds to replace it. Also are easier to go through walls with one of these cables.

Wireless option
you mention your internet is slow, that shouldn't be a problem as you are sending data over lan only. A good router with strong wireless range would be sufficient for streaming. lots of different ways you could stream wirelessly - using a specific device designed for streaming hd video or...

(although i imagine it works in a similar way to steams in home streaming between pc's which I have never tried).

However I would go for a hard wire solution and bypass your network completely
