Hi all. As our router is located a fair distance away from the bedrooms, we used TP-Link extender. I believe the product is this:

http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/TL-WPA4220.html

I am not sure how it is setup (as my dad was the one who did it), but the end result is that I now have 2 possible wifi to connect to, let's call the original as WIFI and the new one as WIFI-TP. For my room, connection to WIFI is superior than WIFI-TP.

I recently bought a new PC in my room. However, the PC cannot detect WIFI. Basically it does not appear in the list. Only WIFI-TP can be detected. I have ZERO problems in connecting to WIFI using my phone, spare phone, tablet and laptop in my room. I believe the adapter that I use is:

http://us.dlink.com/products/connect/wireless-n-usb-adapter/

This was also used on my previous computer, and it could also connect to WIFI without any issues. I have tried a suggestion through google, but this did not work.

try right clicking on my computer and hitting mange, hit device manager and scroll to network adapters and expand it and select your wifi card. from there hit uninstall but do not remove the driver. after that look up top for a computer with a magnifying glass and it will scan for changes which will then reinstall your driver for your wireless.

warning this will remove all saved wireless passwords......

ive used this many times to fix this problem on peoples laptops and it usually works. if it doesnt help you will need a new wireless card installed most likely

I would like some help in connecting to WIFI, as the other network is too poor for me. Do let me know if I should furnish any other information. Thanks!

Hey! It appeared! So I went into the Internal IP Address. Then there was this channel thing, and I switched it to auto. Voila! No idea why it worked though XD

Thanks all!

The adapter you posted only does bands N & G according to spec sheet. You do not say what the original wifi router is, it is possible it is set to band a or b. Also check frequency as someone else suggested.

I believe the original router is: Aztech DSL7000GRV(S).

Pardon me as I am a tech dummy. How do I check what band it is set, and what frequencies the SSIDs are on? I do see a 802.11n for both SSID in cmd.exe.

To check Band And frequency settings as well as ssid you need to go into the router settings. This is right from the manual for that router.

Enter Aztech DSL7000GRV-S Internal IP Address

Put the Internal IP Address of your Aztech DSL7000GRV-S in the Address Bar of your web browser. It looks like this:
192.168.1.0

Then press the Enter key on your keyboard. You should see a dialog box pop up asking your for your Aztech DSL7000GRV-S username and password.

Aztech DSL7000GRV-S Default Username and Password

You need to know the username and password to login to your Aztech DSL7000GRV-S. All of the default usernames and passwords for the Aztech DSL7000GRV-S are listed below.

Aztech DSL7000GRV-S Usernames Aztech DSL7000GRV-S Passwords
blank Aztechadmin
Thats usernames: blank password: Aztechadmin
