Changed WPS to MAC Adress connection on router

Hello, I have quite a problem here.

For starters you should know i'm a little too much curious when it comes to everything that's IT related. We lost electricity a couple of days ago and my router had reseted. I had a bit of trouble connecting to it but i finally managed to. But then my curiosity took over.

Previously, i couldn't connect my Android cellphone to the WiFi but with the PIN generator of the router it worked fine.

But when i was looking in WPS setting and MAC settings and I saw that I could, as roughly described, ''use the MAC address of my devices to connect on my router instead of the WPS setting.'' I don't know how to change my MAC address but I think it requires me to buy a new WiFi adaptater wich i'd prefer to avoid doing. But if it can solve my problem, why not?

And so I added both my PC and my cellphone but I realized I f***** up when both my devices lost connection. I tried refreshing the page and quit the browser but it was already too late. And now I can't connect to my WiFi by any means. I can't even log into my router from my web browser anymore. :(

I tried doing a system restoration from a previous date on my PC but it always says ''restoration encountered an error etc.'' And I don't even know what to do with my phone. My computer is not wired to my router and I can't pass a wire trough the floor. I'm writing this post from my iMac at school.

Thank you for taking to the time to help me.

I'm not quite able to tell what you have done-every router uses slightly different software. If you logged in to the router and changed settings, you probably changed them for everyone.
If you can still log in from a different computer, you may be able to change back the settings you changed.
The settings you need to change are on your router, not your pc (as far as I can tell reading your description). You should reset your router by holding down the reset button. You will need to set it up again, but that will give you a chance to set it up so things work. Once you reset it, it should have some sort of default wifi either without a password or some password printed on the router itself. You may need to look up the manual to see the initial configuration steps.
If you care about security, you shouldn't use either WPS or anything related to MAC addresses. You should have your wifi network use WPA2 security or WPA if WPA2 isn't available. Have it use "AES" for the key and not "TKIP". Create a passphrase that you can remember. That should be compatible with all but very old devices. It will be basically as secure as you can make it.

Second that.

When you set up Mac access connection in your router menu.
You have to add, as you know all of the Mac addresses of each hardware device you use or wish to connect to the network.

Also you can set days, and the amount of time a listed Mac has to the network.
That condition on some routers must be set for Mac authorisation.

Or you get no access.

Alright thank you very much for the info.

But just to explain myself : I rent a room in a basement at someone's place (more like a student apartment) so i'm not the owner of the router itself or the ISP. Will it be possible to just log into the modem with an already connected computer to just remove my devices from the MAC settings back to regular WiFi? Because I don't really want to reset the whole router so that everyone needs to configure their connections again. I've bring this problem upon myself and I shall not push the consequences on the people around me! (sorry I got carried away)

If it's not possible or too complicated i'll just explain it to the landlord (he's cool he'll understand) and just reset the whole thing. I just don't want to call the ISP because it's a pain in the a**. ;)

And while i'm here, is it possible that what I did was just block myself without some sort of limited schedule access?

look in the network setting on the driver for the nic. Many now allow you to change the mac address...there are of course many hack programs that will do this also.

Otherwise borrow a usb wifi dongle and you get another mac address. You could also use a long ethernet cable since the ethernet port has a different mac and almost all those allow you to change the mac.
