GeForce 970 GPU suddenly stops giving a signal

Hello all

I've noticed this topic a lot on the internet as well as this forum, so I created an account here to see if I'm missing something.

I built my own machine roughly ten months ago, including a MSI GeForce GTX 970 graphics card. I was working fine for a long time, until last month when I moved my PC. I simply moved it from my desktop to a shelving unit. Yes, it was turned off.

Now, I also bought a new HDMI cable because the one I was using wasn't long enough - same make and model, just longer.

When I went to plug everything in again, I could not get a signal from the GPU. I have two HDMI outputs from the on-board, which both work, and one HDMI from the GPU. The computer, cables, and monitors can use both on-board outputs, but no signal is detected from the GPU.

I've tried removing the drivers, and re-seating the card, but still nothing. It is detected by the PC, and power does go to it, but no signal. I've requested a RMA, but I'm not sure if I'm missing anything else.

Any ideas?
