I am building a PC that I want to have last for years. Main use is in the office with heavy graphics, video building, recording, spreadsheets, QuickBooks, Photoshop, Act and many other programs open at the same time. Here is what I have so far:

I am new to this and currently use a machine like this:http://www.provantage.com/hpe-e2p04aa~7HEWK763.htm but want make one that is better. Thoughts on Motherboard specifically. I am torn between the GA-Z170X-UD5 and the ASUS Z170-PRO LGA 1151 . My thought is also to use the Onboard video card to start.

Solution
The Pro does have it's USB 3.1 rear ports coming directly off of the Intel chip while the Pro Gaming version has them as an add on using the AS Media controller. The Intel ones are potentially superior, so you may want the Pro version over the Pro Gaming version if you are going to be feeding video through those 3.1 ports. I probably would get one of the Asus boards over the Gigabyte:

I also support the H7 cooler.

So you would go with the Asus Pro Gaming for sure? The only other difference I see between the Gaming and the Pro is the Memory Freq. the pro is 3866+ MHz (OC) and the Gaming is at 3466+ MHz (OC) - probably getting into such small differences it does not matter.
