Hi, here is my system w/o the gpu listed. http://

I've been looking at upgrading to a 970 for awhile, I like the current price point. Recently looked into the 980ti.

Using it for gaming at 1080p only at the moment. Looking to upgrade by June.

Would it be better to go with the 980ti if I did not upgrade anything else or should I just go with the 970?

Also, should I upgrade to Windows 10 before the free offer is up? Will games in the future be utilising more of what Windows 10 has to offer?

Thanks!

First of all, DO upgrade to windows 10. You may either upgrade over Win 7(not recommended) or do a fresh Win 10 install with your win7 key(yes, that works). The best thing to do is to get an SSD(i see you don't have one) and...

Well do you have the money to buy a 980 ti? If so sure why not. That said a 980 ti is way overkill for a 1080p 60hz monitor but if you plan to upgrade to a 1080p 144hz monitor of something 1440p then a 980 ti is a good invesment. The 970 is also a very good card for the price im sure you wouldn't be disappointed by either. But I usually recommend a gamer get the best gpu he can afford at the time. However pascel comes out in a few months so depending on your patience you may want to wait for that.

As far as windows 10 I have had no issues with it, but many people claim they have. For a gamer I would say upgrade, microsoft is doing their best to force everybody onto 10 anyways. That said at the moment win 7 and 8.1 are still very good OS's, I will leave it up to you.

Intel Core i5-3570K is still fairly competitive, even more so if overclocked. You should be fine with a 980 TI, but if you're running at 1080p the 970 is enough and the price/performance ratio is a lot better.

Go with a 970 and here's a nice read.

As for the GPU, if you're upgrading in june/july theres no point in deciding because both nvidia and amd are putting out a new generation that promises ALOT. If you can, you SHOULD wait for those. Personally i wouldn't buy a gpu these days as i consider that to be a very bad investment.

Awesome!
Thanks for all the replies. I'll keep an eye on the 970. Since I'm waiting until June anyways, I'll see what Nvidia has going with the new series. Also going to buy an ssd in the meantime and upgrade to Windows 10.
