Hey everyone. I read other forums that ran into the blue screen problem but I was unable to find a solution I could use. Let me explain my situation as there is a series of things that caused this problem probably.
My Asus MX279 was acting funny and I called Asus tech support. They gave me a list of things to try and one of them was to "uninstall display drivers" This is where I believe the trouble begins. After trying a bunch of other things they ended up requesting that I ship it in for service (Note: I have not reinstalled any new drivers). I took my old Acer monitor and installed it for temporary use; However, I did not have the drivers reinstalled AND I believe I was running it at the high resolution of 1440x900 and not at 1280x800 which is the max for my Acer. This is about when My blue screen came on when I was watching a movie about 2 days later.
So at this point the culprit of my blue screen is either software or hardware. I don't believe my GPU is damaged because I can still see the display messages. I read several solutions posted by other users but I am having trouble because I can't even boot up windows. As soon as the Windows logo begins, it cuts me back to the blue screen and restarts. I can run "safe mode" all other options like "Have windows repair" but all selections port me to blue screen.
What options do I have if I can't even get to the desktop to get the proper drivers and resolutions?
