Solution
It appears to be a newer line of Kingstons value DRAM and made wuith high density memory chips, which aren't compatible with the older socket 775 mobos. Can confirm with kingston by sending a PM to their rep - goes by KingstonHQ - here in the forums. I'd get the GSkill NT series of value DRAM, they are made with the older, compatible low density memory chips.

Remove any other memory installed and just install 4 GB in first slot, keeping other slot empty. If it doesn't work, try the same way in the second slot.
