Hi
I have a desktop Hp pavillion a6000n (amd athlon 64 x2 4200+ 2gb ram) that i have good memories of

Recently after starting and doing normal tasks the screen gets pixelated (little boxes of different color like white and purple) and cant do anything on comp.

I am suspecting that the on board graphic chip (gforce 6150se) is failing so was thinking if i add a modest graphic card that would not require me to upgrade psu ( power supply ) and be able to use it again.

Which gpu would u recommend. I know many gonna say to get or build a new pc instead of gpu. But i rarely use it so do not want to spend 5 6k for no reason just want it to work when is required.

it would work for anything other than gaming. it is a very old card and is actually worse than the integrated graphics of intel cpu's which is pretty low end itself.

if all you're using the pc for is web surfing and office apps, then that gpu would be usable. otherwise i'd spend a bit more and get a bit better.

need some info on the power supply in the system. it is likely very low powered and will need a low powered card but how low powered is what i need to know.

open the case and read the psu model number off of it and post it here please. this will tell me what kind of card it can run. more than likely something like a gtx 740 or similar.

I saw someone suggesting EVGA GeForce 8400GS 1GB SDDR3 on a forum which is much cheaper around 30$ and also requires 300psu
what do you think
