okay I tried this on the official forums and got no responses but i have been lurking around here for a long time so I thought would come to yall fine people. I want to be able to play the new WoW expansion on Ultra. Im currently having to play it on Good(although i can play on ultra but the framerate drops to about 20 fps) and I was wondering what i would have to do to upgrade it to get back to ultra. Can I tweak it, and if so how, if not what is an affordable upgrade for me. Thanks in advane yall. here is my processor

AMD FX-6100 Six-Core Processor 3.30 Ghz

16.0 GB (RAM)

Video Card: AMD Radeo HD 7850 series 1 gig gddr5

motherboard : AsRock 960gm/u3s3 fx

According to PC Games Magazine, your video card is your weak link.

I would suggest something like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202113R

Also, you will probably want to upgrade your CPU to the fx-6300.

Unfortunately your mother board limits what you can do.

If you want to build a new system, that Intel Skylake CPU that Assassin445522 mentioned is pretty. Personally, I want the I7 6700K for my next build. Not cheap though. The I3 6100 does pack a punch for a very low price.

There are also plenty of AMD builds that can handle it though. It is really a matter...

Unpark all your CPU cores if you are running on windows 7

If your not than there isnt much you can do.

If you get a skylake CPU and use integrated you could easily run WOW.

I know you can run SC2 at max settings 60 fps 1080p with an i5 4460

And skylake has better iGPU

I am not sure wether a GPU or CPU upgrad is a better choice for WOW.

In other blizzard games generally a gt 740-750ti will max it out 1080p with AA.

But i know WOW is different than other Blizzard games i have never played it or tested it before.

i would trust what others say more than me for WOW.

Thank you very much for your reply. I will in all likely take you up on your suggestion. I will have to do one then the other. Its just quick fixes until i can get ahead enough to ultimatley build a better unit. Thanks again for the reply

You still may need to build a whole new system to get Ultra, but the upgrades I suggested should at least come close to maximizing the capabilities of the mother board you currently have. There are some nVidia 4GB options out there, but they sport a 128-bit memory interface instead of a 256-bit like the Radeon 6970. Shop around though. I was just looking on Newegg based upon your motherboard's limits. PCI-Express 2.0 x16 for GPU and 95w AM3+ for CPU.
