From a functional point of view, any case that will mount a ATX motherboard will do.
If you have hotter components, like cpu or graphics cards, then look for a case with at least two front intake 120mm or larger fans.
Looks count. Bust your budget if you need to to buy a case you love.
It will be with you for a long time.

Excuse the long wait in replying back. To answer your question, my budget for a case is around $55. That said, I need a case that can house an MSI mb, Nvidia 970 and i5 6500.
I saw a case on Newegg that looked interesting but its a little costly. the link is below.
Maybe you could recommend a few low cost cases that will fit my needs?
Features and potential pitfalls vary. Read any available reviews carefully. But they're all standard ATX mid-tower cases from well-known companies that have USB 3.0 front panel ports, can be had for your price with shipping from at least one merchant, and have at least tolerable user ratings at Newegg and Amazon.
Important, though: Which version of the GTX 970 have you got? Their dimensions can vary quite a bit. Each of those links lists the maximum card length the case can accept and the case's overall dimensions. The manufacturer's page or the Newegg product page for the card gives the card's total measurements, or you can just measure yours yourself.

To answer your question, I'll be using the MSI Nvidia 970. Link is below:

Okay then, strike the Antec One off the list of possibilities, it won't accommodate a card that long. The other four I linked you should, and so should the DIYPC P48-BK recommended by Geofelt (it would give you the most room to work with lengthwise, though that one is also slightly narrower across than the others.)
