I am building a gaming pc for medium gaming and light photo editing (no video editing). I would also like it to run games smoothly in about 5 years +.

Theses are the two graphics cards I was looking at to go with Intel Core i7-6700.

- GIGABYTE Radeon R9 390
- EVGA GeForce GTX 970

Could some one please tell me which is a better graphics card for what I am going to use it for thanks.

I have some other options two and would need help choosing which would be better for gaming and lasting a few years.

1. Intel Core i7-6700
- GIGABYTE Radeon R9 390
or
- EVGA GeForce GTX 970

2. AMD FX-8350 Black Edition (maybe intel i5)
- EVGA GeForce GTX 980 (most likely if I chose this option)
or
- GIGABYTE Radeon R9 390x

Thanks.

I have found all the parts to be cheaper on Newegg (not 100% if I'm buying from there and if I can trust it) so I totalled £773 not £1000 which is under my budget so if you are getting the parts from amazon it can total around £1000 budget.

Feel free to make changes and suggestions

I would also like some help choosing a gaming monitor for under £200 and a water cooler (the ones you build with pipes not pre made) the whole kit under £150.

Thanks

I would go with the 390 instead, because in the light of early dx12 prewievs, it gains considerably more performance than 970. Also it has more vram, which might come handy if gaming in higher resolution. And you never know what the vram requirements will be in 5 years or so. Also 390 is a little bit cheaper where I live (Finland).
But if you care more about power consumption and cooling, go for the 970.

That monitor is good, but a monitor with 1ms will be better. I have no experience in water cooling.
