I want to preface this by saying that I did check other articles and followed those instructions to no avail.

I don't know what I did. I installed a new fan/heat sink in my computer. Afterwards, I am ONLY able to boot from Windows.

If I just turn my computer on, or reboot, or if it restarts itself after an update, my computer is just black screen. Then I have to hit restart, go into the ASUS bios, and manually select my Hard Drive from the Boot Menu.

I went in to advanced mode, removed all other hard drives from boot priority, made sure that my Kingston was the only drive in boot priority.

I noticed that from the boot menu, there was a P2 next to my Kingston (windows), and a P1 next to my Samsung. I said to myself, "are those priority labels? maybe I switched the wires by mistake?" I opened up my case, switched the wires, and when I started my computer, there was now a P1 next to my Windows drive. All must be right with the world. Checked all of my boot priorities again (only the windows drive listed there), and restarted. Fail.

I am at my wits end, it is probably something so simple, but since I am quite the novice,

1| Can you please pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your OS and connected peripherals? Please try to be specific. We'll need to know that since we're going to have to identify the issue. We'd also need to learn of the add-ons you've performed, for example, the fan yo added to your system.
2| Can you verify if your BIOS is up to date?
3| It sounds more akin to your system being on Windows 10 whereby you migrated from a previous version of Windows via the upgrade path. Is that correct?
