Which gaming PC should i go for?

So i have decided to buld myself a computer. I mainly play games, but it should be good for other things too. I amnot sure if i should go for i7 6700k and a 960 4gb or i5 6600k along with a 960 4gb. I know the first option is a little cheaper, but which is more worth for me to buy? I will play GTA 5, minecraft, assassins creed and some other new games. Can someone please help me decide? (budget: $1500)

i7's are rarely necessary for a gaming system. Only if you plan on doing some more advanced type of computing like running a virtual machine or CPU intensive tasks is the i7 really necessary. A similarly clocked i5 will do just as well as the i7 for gaming. I agree with Turk' saving a little money on the CPU and putting a little more into the GPU is the best solution for a gaming system. With a 6k series i5 processor you aren't likely to bottleneck the GPU because you skimped a little on the cpu to get a better GPU.
