Hi,

First post here,

I am looking to build a sort of gaming htpc, I have never built anything before. I had an old 3770k/GTX 660 tower built for me a few years ago (which I know longer own).

I have a G3258 in mind but I want it overclocked and i want the case to be no bigger than a Xbox One. (So it fits on my glass cabinet under my tv)

I have a budget of about £350. I have researched but I'm a bit puzzled with compatible mobo's for overclock etc.

So intel G3258 with overclock. with compatible mobo.
Small htpc case (silverstone etc)
8gb Ram
Possible GTX 750ti
1 small SSD, 120gb or less.
1tb HDD. WDigitial or something.

Is this do-able?

I am a complete novice with builds but any help would be appreciated.

Solution
The G3258 is a fine CPU, but when overclocked the additional expense of a CPU cooler doesn't make this a good value purchase. A non-overclocked i3 will still outpace the overclocked Pentium with not much more cost.
