GTX 980ti Display Issues

I recently bought a Gigabyte gtx 980ti and have been getting a bit frustrated with it.

I have a constant issue where, if the PC is turned on before the monitor, no picture is shown. And sometimes even when the monitor is turned on first, the same issue (I'm running it through DVI and my monitor has no HDMI connections)

I got to the point where I was convinced there was something wrong with the card and sent it back to Ebuyer to have it tested, they say it's fine and are returning it to me.

So now I'm thinking it's something else in my PC (since this is the first thing I've updated in a couple of years) but it works fine with my old gtx 660 (I realise there's a difference in the requirements of the 2 cards in terms of power supply).

So my question is, does anyone have any valid theories on what could be causing this?

Current PC setup:
Intel i5 3570K (not overclocked)
Asus P8Z77-V LX 1155 socket MoBo
EVGA Supernova 750w PSU
16Gb Corsair Vengeance RAM

PS. Please assume no technical knowledge in your answers (e.g. BIOS setups and stuff)

maybe why gigabytes 900 cards hold some of the lowest review ratings at newegg?? maybe 49% 5 egg at best where outher cards brands have at least 70+% ??

be sure you old board has its latest bios some older board did have issue with new 900 cards ??

then if win-10 lots of display issues with it as well

then its not like folks are all too happy with NVidia drivers lately

A. the 3570k will not bottlneck a 980Ti.
B. even if there was a cpu bottleneck this is not how it would present itself.

Thanks, I have updated my BIOS and will report back once my card is returned.

UPDATE:

I got the card back today and still the same issue with the updated BIOS. Not sure on the next step.

I have a similar problem to this. My Card will just stop working for no reason. The lights on the video card wont light up and it comes up with no display signal on my monitor. I have also noticed that my bios lights flash between 1 and 2 as it is dual bios. I have taken the video card back multiple times and it always comes back clear. The problem only occurs randomly. When the card was gone for about 4 weeks I never had a problem with the computer.

Just wondering if you have solved the problem as it has been a year since you posted this thread.

Cheers

To be honest, I completely forgot about this thread!

I just built a new PC around the card. I couldn't get it to work whatever I tried and I just got fed up with it. I suspect it was the motherboard as it was quite old but I never confirmed it.

Could have been anything unfortunately.
