Hello, I ordered cooler master evo but it is coming in a week. I want to test my other computer parts and begin building my rig. I have everything except the cpu cooler.
i7 6700k doesn't come with a cooler but I have Ivy Bridge i5 stock cooler.
Would it be compatible with i7 6700k?

Thanks

Solution
The Ivy Bridge stock cooler will physically fit, however, you may still run into problems. Ivy Bridge CPUs were rated for a 77 Watt TDP at maximum, Skylake CPUs can hit up to a 91 Watt TDP with the 6600k and 6700k. The Ivy Bridge stock cooler may not be able to dissipate the heat that a 6700k puts out. There is no harm in trying it, but keep an eye on your temperatures, especially when putting the CPU under load to make sure it's not getting too hot.

I'm just gonna install windows 10. It's just to test my other pc parts. Would it be 100% ok?
